Paul L. LeBlanc *

Paul L. LeBlanc was born on May 5, 1946. He attended Chalmette High School, a member of the class of 1965. He matriculated at LSU – New Orleans on August 28, 1965, the same day that Hurricane Betsy hit land below New Orleans and him from St Bernard Parish for a year.

A couple of years later LeBlanc attended Delgado Jr. College and received an associate degree in data processing (predecessor of computers) He was then drafted and served 1977 to 1979 in the old French occupation zone of Germany.

After discharge LeBlanc enrolled at LSU where he received a BS in accounting in 1973. He was employed full-time while in school. Upon finishing at LSU, LeBlanc began a career in a variety of industries working with computers and accounting. In 1985, with the advent of the personal computer LeBlanc became a sole practitioner in computers, accounting and business management. In 1984, LeBlanc began course work in a variety of fields and in 1989 received a BA with an emphasis in sociology and anthropology. To start the new decade he switched to UNO where he received an MBA with emphasis in accounting and computer applications in 1993.

LeBlanc has served as an adjunct professor at Tulane University, University College, teaching classes in computer applications and computer programming. He has applied this expertise to his work in genealogy. In 2005, because of Hurricane Katrina he evacuated up the River to where the Spanish had settled our ancestors in 1765 to 1769. There he found he was related to almost everyone whose family had been there for a generation. Instead of returning to rebuild, he decided to make his home where he “landed” and he continued to service a few clients in New Orleans until 2011. LeBlanc has been helping people with genealogy since the early 1990s and now is doing it almost full-time.
