André Forcier is a Quebec film director and screenwriter and promoter of Acadian culture who lives in Montreal. He is noted by his use of fantasy that is firmly rooted in Quebec’s reality. In 1990, he won the Prix André Guérin. In 2003, he won the prix Albert-Tessier for an outstanding career in Quebec cinema. He has received six Genie Award nominations. In 1998, he came to Louisiana and filmed La Contesse de Baton Rouge. During the filming, he was hosted by the Acadian Museum at Lake Peigneur.
